IR TV Review: STAR TREK - DISCOVERY - EPISODE 8 (“All In”) [Paramount+-S4]
Burnham, ever since she has let her hair down, has been about principles but her time in the 32nd Century has allowed her to see life in a more complex way. Episode 8 entitled "All In" has her moving into more of a gray area, not of morality per se but of purpose. Things can't always go by the book (pun intended)
IR TV Review: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT - EPISODE 7 (“In The Name Of Honor”) [Lucasfilm/Disney+]
The aspect of wrapping up stories has to with the notion of pace and closure. The culmination of "The Book Of Boba Fett" in Episode 7 is more about showing a progression in Fett's mindset versus that of The Mandalorian which of course this finale builds quickly back into.
IR TV Review: STAR TREK - PRODIGY - EPISODE 10 (“A Moral Star- Part II”) [Paramount+]
The texture of family is what propels the plot of Episode 10: "A Moral Star - Part II" because the choice is based on the nature of knowledge and motivation. Now granted the idea of negotiation should be a forgotten conclusion but it is based in the necessity of knowing most of the cards.
IR TV Review: STAR TREK - PRODIGY - EPISODE 8 (“Time Amok”) [Paramount+]
The essence of temporal disturbance revolves in an idea of what time can provide and what it can take away. Episode 8 of "Star Trek Prodigy' entitled "Time Amok" actually does not have its correlation in the episode one would think but more to something integral to the Voyager and initial Enterprise years, not so much in consequence but in problem solving.
IR TV Review: PEACEMAKER - EPISODE 4 (“The Choad Less Traveled”) [HBO Max]
The key aspect that "Peacemaker" does as it heads into its 4th episode is speak to the ideas of what good decisions can perhaps look like in the greater sense and the elements of consequence.
IR TV Review: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT - EPISODE 4 (“The Gathering Storm”) [Lucasfilm/Disney+]
Writer Jon Favreau understands the larger world of Star Wars but his brush strokes are much broader and less uber-detailed oriented again than Dave Filoni is per se. Favreau sees the bigger tableau but the show needs to retain more watercooler elements in a way which "The Mandalorian" had.
IR TV Review: PEACEMAKER - EPISODES 1, 2 & 3 [HBO Max]
The essence of "Peacemaker" is the irony of what he is. As seen in "The Suicide Squad", he believes a certain thing and acts a certain way because it is who he is. And from the get go in Episode 1 of his spin-off series: "A Whole New Whirled", there is a slightly more empathetic approach to who he is despite the fact that he is a mess and an idiot on so many fronts.
IR TV Review: THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT - EPISODE 3 (“The Streets Of Mos Espa”) [Lucasfilm/Disney+]
The texture of power and loss continues to build in Episode 3 of "The Book Of Boba Fett" entitled "The Streets Of Mos Espa". Robert Rodriguez returns to helm this episode after sitting out Episode 2.
IR TV Review: STAR TREK - PRODIGY - EPISODE 7 (“First Con-tact”) [Paramount+]
The episode does point to the fact that sometimes your crew are the only ones you can count on...but it depends if it is for the right reasons. The integration of use of technology (specifically transporters) is nicely subtle while still showing the evolution of what is going on.
