Sirk TV Spotlight: LEGOLAND (Summer 2023) [Carlsbad, California]

This summer, again, my boys and I decided to head down to Carlsbad, California for an extravaganza full of fun adventures at Legoland California. I had prebooked a theme room at the iconic Legoland Hotel. I highly recommend to make a reservation at least 1 month before heading to the park as, both the Legoland Hotel and the Castle Hotel are pretty much always sold out! The great deal with the hotels at Legoland is that you can sleep the whole family in 1 room. You have one large queen bed for the parents and 3 single beds for the kids1 The room comes with all the amenities you need, and it gives you access to a heated pool as well as a free generous breakfast buffet the next morning. This is best deal to be hosted just a few steps away from the entrance of Legoland.

Once in the park, you can do as you wish by visiting the various theme areas. Our boys love the “Lego Movie World” inspired by the Lego movies. It’s a blast with so many attractions to visit. Especially wild and fun, is “Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride’ as you fly through a master builder’s unique journey on a triple decker couch. It is a breathtaking experience that will leave such magic memories in the head of your kids.

My boys and I also recommend eating one of the yummy ramen specials at the “Everything Is Ramen” restaurant. It is one of the best deals for a savory lunch. After visiting “Lego Movie World”, the boys wanted to go straight to the other side of the park as they have a sweet spot for The Dragon Roller Coaster, which is an indoor/outdoor ride. It’s a sensational ride and, at the same time, it’s super kid friendly and enchanting. Usually, from there, they stroll down to the Ninjago universe to send almost real fireballs, lightning, and shockwaves on board the Lego Ninjago ride. That ride is all in 3-D and you must be full of kung fu skills to be able to defeat the various zombies, snake warrior and even the Great Devourer (a giant python).

Good advice is to explore as many parts of Legoland you can until 2 or 3pm and then head to the water park which usually closes around 5:30pm. Within the water park, you shoukd definitely go to Chima World. This will give you plenty of time to refresh and jump in the Lion Temple Wave pool or to slide through the mouth of a crocodile at Cragger’s swamp. And, of course, you will want to go down the big splash Pirate Reef for a little dose of high adrenaline rush before chilling till the end of the afternoon at ‘Build-A-Raft/Not-So-Lazy’ river. It’s so much fun to float downstream and play with giant Legos floating around you.

Once you get dry, you are ready to enjoy a few more hours of Legoland. Don’t forget to stop by The Big Store to get your favorite Lego souvenirs and toys. They even have some Legoland exclusive sets inspired by some of the rides you just enjoyed all day.

Truly, Legoland is the most kids friendly of all the parks we have visited with our family, and it will not disappoint. Be ready to pack your belonging and head straight the awesome land of Legoland where you will build one unforgettable memory at a time. We’ll see you there with my boys!
