IR TV Review: THE BAD BATCH - EPISODE 2 (“Cut And Run”) [Disney+]

The idea of responsibility versus existence is an continuing construct and one that comes to bear as an intro in the 2nd episode of "The Bad Batch" entitled "Cut And Run". The men must find their own way after being declared persona non grata. They have another person, a child named Omega, seen as one of their own that they bring along or rather makes herself one of them. Her abilities and/or lineage have not been revealed but knowing Filoni's structuring, everything has a purpose. They travel to a previously visited planet from "The Clone Wars" where they hope to find information or, at least, a momentary refuge. For the leader of "The Bad Batch" there is an existential notion which is interesting since the clone mentality distinctifies being alone by not being unique. This episode shows that there is something beyond that but also an underlying metaphor that is struck throughout the Empire. Whether this becomes a continuing metaphor remains to be seen. B+
