IR TV Review: THE BAD BATCH - EPISODE 1 (“Aftermath”) [Disney+]

The texture of cause and effect but also the idea of identity and uniqueness form the basis between "The Bad Batch". As seen in previous "The Clone War" episodes, they are painted as a rag-tag bunch, more of a "Dirty Dozen" approach. While their rescue of Echo is very specific in its reasoning, it nice and not-so-subtly sets up their own outlay in this new series. The first episode "Aftermath" without giving too much away shows the direct aspect of Order 66 but from a different perspective. While it is from a clone point of view, the way Unit 99 operates makes them the outcasts, which is an interesting ponderance in a idea of clones where all are the same. The extended first episode does some interesting aspects in that it shows a couple different aspects of life, both on the mission, back and home and then on another assignment which is two fold with different reasoning.

An interesting person of note is conducting all this to his nefarious means which spells well and flows into a couple different things (which could include different musings that feed "Rogue One"). That said, the element of choice and critical thinking as well as leadership is a key element of what the series ponders especially within a disagreement between two people. There is also a wild card which will be interesting to see how it plays out and what it actually means within the structure of the show. It offers an interesting insight into what the Caminoians are actually doing beyond the perspective and orders of The Empire. They are there to drive their commerce but the clones are their creation which makes their integration into what they do, especially with the experiment that is Unit 99, all the more intriguing. A
