IR TV Review: THE BAD BATCH - EPISODE 11 (“Devil’s Deal”) [Disney+]
The latest episode (#11) of "The Bad Batch" entitled "Devil's Deal" takes an interesting turn because it highlights a greater swath of the clone and Star Wars mythology in a certain way that is both telling but also reflexive. We don't see the Batch until closer to the end but the character it does show paints a reflection back to the very first moments of the series. it is not necessarily a deep cut but it shows a full understanding of where its thoughts fit in the greater scheme. And the reality (which maybe has been a criticism of recent Star Wars storylines) is not all the stories need to revolve around The Force. There are plenty of other beings in the galaxy who have no access to that kind of training or approach. They just do what they do and hope that they can survive. The reality here is that the Batch is still moving along (though considering the outlay of last week's episode, it is interesting that the runs are still being done for Sid unless this is outside the current chronology). Either way it paints the aforementioned character and creates (even for a small moment) a different dynamic for Omega (whomever she turns out to be) [Jade might be an interesting word to mention]. That said, while just a blip in The Batch's missions, the story could have long reaching repercussions for others. But in creating this episodic, it does reward those who have watched the full gamut of the Star Wars animated experience. B+
