IR TV Review: STAR WARS - AHSOKA - EPISODE 6 (“Far Far Away”) [Lucasfilm/Disney+]

After the interesting pinnacle that was "Fallen Warrior", after the jump at the end of that episode, the storyline needed to engage back to the context of the mission at hand but also the evolution of Ahsoka. However what is interesting in Episode 6: "Far Far Away" is that it delves even deeper into "Rebels" lore while still understanding to engage the pinpoints of throwback to make people truly remember that this is Star Wars. Another intriguing element is seeing the motivations or alternate perspective of motivations especially with someone like Baylan (Ray Winstone). His concept of the force and having been a youngling that had been irrevocably changed by a certain Jedi who turned is an interesting parallel. He is not Sith and not a Jedi but is obviously in a different place than Ahsoka but battling with similar ideas.

Of course the reasoning and path of what happens after they arrive out of the Hyperspace gate is what one might think. However the path and energy that brought them there is still unclear (I don't even remember how it was done in Rebels). That said, there is a point of juncture here when Sabine takes off on a quest per se. It does feel a bit like a western but also with throwbacks to A New Hope, at least in theme and structure and even certain personas. There is a new character in the fold which does live up to what has been said. However, the episode does not set up his power too much. This is understandable but also necessitates that this is a bridge episode to set up the next step. The reality though is that even with this kind of progression, this feels more like "Star Wars" than other live action series in the pipeline before or currently (which obviously has alot to do with Dave Filoni's writing). The episode ends in a certain progression of what might happen next. And with 4 more episodes in the season, this bodes well across the board. B+
