IR TV Review: STAR TREK - DISCOVERY - EPISODE 8 (“The Sanctuary”) [CBS All Access-S3]

The essence of home is a construct that can be reflected in many aspects. As the season of "Star Trek: Discovery" progresses, it also reflects in loyalty integrated with a sense of duty which can conflict (especially wihin Burnham this season). Unlike the last episode which truly integrated the meat of what" home" can or cannot be with Michael, Episode 8 ("The Sanctuary") uses it with the character of Book on a more broad level. The episode is also setting up the crux of a baddie in a certain shape or form. And the person that plays her reflects in a beautiful genre way that truly integrates. The missions are feeling more dynamic because they are closer to the inherent episodic structure without having to always be a continuing story. The social relevance to our time in terms of inclusion is always there but the perception of its greater basis keeps expanding. Again the idea continues to build but the notion of cracks in armor permeates through certain members of the crew but not with others. Time will tell what will form in their wake. B
