IR TV Review: SEE - EPISODE 1 (“Heavy Hangs The Head”) [Apple TV+-S3]

The texture of a final season is based in its relevance to wrap up its strings or its aspects of loss and redemption while moving its characters towards oblivion. With the episode 1 premiere of Season 3 entitled “Heavy Hangs The Head”, the pull of “See” becomes about expectation against duty. The essence of the sisters and their motivation in what can be understood between the Queen and Mahgra is locked in the delivery of a certain person. The question is it based in power or spirituality or perhaps an intersection of both. After the actions of Edo Voss (Dave Bautista), his influence still continues to reign consistently as his followers are finding new ways to endure his ideas.

The father of a certain child is an intriguing allegory of being seen and not seen and ultimately will determine the fate of the family. Queen Kane (Sylvia Hoeks) obviously balances between steely vengeance and a lost connection that she might never find, Baba Voss (Jason Momoa) is in a balanced place which might be both good and bad for him.. Momoa can always bring a sense of lightness when there might be a bleakness and infuse it with heart. The show always seems to pick up pace when he is featured but with so many strands of narrative threading in and out sometimes it takes a little while to get to such a point. While aspects of plot continue to move along, except with a battle sequence with a triduary character at the beginning, the cinematic essence is at a minimum in the premiere which might build in later episodes.
