Madden 2010 - PS3 Review
Playing Madden 2010 on the PS3 structures elements of game play both intrinsic but also in the zeitgeist. Now while adhering and creating a high standard within the aspect of high definition gameplay, the angle of playability is an important strategy. While the intrinsic nature of how individual players react in real time is an important part of the game, the instinctual moves need to remain the same. While the rush and pass game in terms of the different plays available are still primary in how they are executed, the pinpoint accuracy of the lines has become a little faded. Of particular consequence is the play through and follow up regarding field goals and punts which is the past were a simple one-two button punches. Now however there is a bevy of instructions to execute certain moves. Madden has always been about the gamer mentality. The moment too many bells and whistles overcomes the angle of what we are enjoying, it takes away the possibility of the game. In comparison, the use of camera grids in terms of more standarized TV angles gives the impression of actuality which is a big plus. The design of the stadiums and the realism of the crowds continues to grow in leaps and bounds as well as the interactivity of the weather which can show a wind shift part way through a game which can affect the outcome. The effectiveness comes within the balance of satisying the hard core as well as recreational gamer while continuing to refine the process. Out of 5, I give Madden 2010 on PS3 a 2 1/2.
