IR TV Review: STAR TREK - PRODIGY - EPISODE 19 (“Supernova Part I”) [Paramount+]

The context of the Kobayashi Maru builds into the 1st part of the Season 1 finale of Star Trek: Prodigy entitled "Supernova, Part I". The idea of a no-win scenario is an interesting progression especially where best intentions are involved. The consequence of events of the previous episode leaves Vice Admiral Janeway in the brig which is an ironic element. However certain turns really show an element of Star Trek lore but also of mythos in deciding choice factors. The aspect of terrorism versus dying for a cause is a point that very pertinent here and creates the conflict of self in many ways. The dread and sense of tension in this episode definitely informs repercussions on a larger scale. In fact, the idea it presents almost speaks to another possible mass destruction event in a different series later down the line. As the episode reaches its pinnacle it is about affecting what is possible versus what is practical. Even best laid plans can go awry simply because of bad timing. The context of resolution is far flung at best here so it will be tricky to see how it resolves itself and yet still fits into the lexicon. A-
