IR TV Review: STAR TREK - DISCOVERY - EPISODE 9 (“Rubicon”) [Paramount+-S4]

The burden of proof versus trust depends on what different characters are after and how far they are willing to go to get it. In trying to stop the DMA, Captain Michael Burnham is placed between a rock and hard place because she is backed against the wall (literally at one point with Burnham placing Discovery as a shield). Episode 9: "Rubicon" does refer to a sort of untenable situation that does change every way one looks at it depending whose scene it is. There is an interesting quagmire that is thrown into the mix which challenges Burnham's character but also forces her to play the political game. Burnham always believes negotiation is the best way but she is compromised in the way Book played her. She however understands why he does what he does in a way though she can't let it slide. Her decisions are sound and logical (if not a little reckless -- which is the irony). Again one was hoping this season would be a little less serialized because darkness tends to beget darkness but the reasoning of the how and why especially in reference to the way the DMA works might be speak to something Bigger.
