IR TV Review: STAR TREK - DISCOVERY - EPISODE 10 (“Terra Firma - Part II”) [CBS All Access-S3]

The aspect of letting go or at least recognizing the essence of what one could be is a double edged sword in "Star Trek: Discovery". With Episode 10, which is the conclusion of the two part "Terra Firma", the story continues to follow Emperor Georgiou as she seemingly moves back to the mirror universe at a critical point in her decision-making. The ideal is one of strategy but also the endgame which is the morality that this journey of hers (after heading through the door on the ice planet on the last episode) supersedes. Now while the points seem a little overdramatic, one wonders if they are truly in line with who the Emperor is or just a reflection on mortality. With looking at the mirror of Michael it is supposed to remind us that people are who they are...they might change a little bit but the core is the same. Michael Burnham in this universe might be changing slightly because of her interaction with both sides of the coin but also because she is the lead character, and the rules apply slightly differently to her. That said, the mythology and intersections do continue to move together although some seem more coincidental than others. Hopefully it points to a different intersection down the line but that depends on how all the storylines across the shows work together. B
