IR TV Review: SHE HULK - ATTORNEY AT LAW - EPISODE 3 [Marvel/Disney+]

The reasoning of life sometimes can apply to superheroes. Even though the aspect of "above the law" becomes an interesting connotation, the crucial element is that Jennifer Walters is the law (both literally and figuratively), and not in a Judge Dredd sort of way. The introduction of Emil Blonsky (aka The Abomination) [played by Tim Roth] in the last episode opens that door. The question, as with any client, becomes how much of the truth the person who is being questioned is saying. It is interesting with Tim Roth playing this character, especially since in a way it might be a parallel universe since it is when Edward Norton was playing Banner. Whether this will come into play is a determination to be made later.

Maslany's character is hyper aware, again beyond 4th wall, but it beautifully doesn't break the story since it is almost another character, part Maslany and part the character, which only she and maybe a few other actors could do because of her kind of control. "Orphan Black" was, of course, no fluke. This is more a dance because it can't really go as dark. This is more a character comedy in a way with dramatic world building on a smaller scale thrown in. Every episode is not the end of the world or the equivalent. There are aspects to be battled but it is just a matter of time before those are necessary. The great aspect about She-Hulk is her lack of ego in a way but also being able to make fun of herself as the mid credits show. The music in the series is also much more hip in many ways giving it a cooler vibe than some other recent shows. B
