IR TV Review: MASTERS OF THE AIR - EPISODE 8 [Apple TV+]

With the war approaching a full breaking point, the essence of multiple fronts permeates the second-to-last episode of "Masters Of The Air". In Episode 8, we finally see the Tuskegee Airmen as they help commence a raid on Italy. The series doesn't really show the full impact of these men but we do see both a view of their talents but eventually it has to dovetail into the original story of the series, which in short leads to the POW camp where many pilots are restituted. This also allows for approaches of parallels between the pilots to become more clear both in how they are interrogated but also how they are treated. The Nazis in the progrtession are getting more desperate as the Allies grow closer to Berlin. Majors Buc and Egan (Austin Butler and Callum Turner respectively) have their own ideas in terms of life inside the camp.

Time does pass by and there is a sense more of placation setting in. That is why it is very important to see the balance in Crosby (Anthony Boyle) back at base in England as he tries to plan a big offensive but is susceptuble, as all, to his human frarilities in many ways. In an odd way, and he is the narrator of the story, his arc has become the most dynamic even if he is not in the air.On the other side, Major Rosenthal (Nate Mann) has come to terms with his part in helping the war end, which is sometimes just making sure the soldiers are not defeated before they even leave the building. It is more dire in the camp and there is a different of opinion which makes that storyline more mysterious in terms of what is done. However the question is also how close to real life this dramatization is (including the elements of the Tuskegee). The show doesn't shy away from the difference and animosity at times between these pilots but also shows certain elements of willingness, even in such a different time. B
