IR TV Review: HARLEY QUINN - EPISODE 10 (“Killer’s Block”) [Max-S4]

Moving towards the end of Season 4 of "Harley Quinn", the last episode (Ep #9) built something extremely cool but the final episode of the season in #10 ("Killer's Block") dropped the ball in many ways to create its point per se of reset. It makes sense overall but the way that Episode 9 ended was just beautiful in its texture because it showed both Harley's future and her past and the two women that helped influence it with a sour taste of regret. The point of Lex's villainy and petty hatred never really got its comepuppance in the right way. However the interesting correlation of the women in power and how they figured to maintain is an textured double edged sword.

Ivy seems lost in this season of what needs to be while Harley is getting stronger but more confused. One specific point where Harley is standing in front of someone so integral to who she is and he throws the title of the episode in her face is quite ironic because of what it really means in the universe of psychotics that she inhabits. The fate of this woman has so much to her. The issue is that it is hard to capture this on screen. Margot Robbie tries and very much succeeds at many points but the story having to be part a movie slows it down. Here the plots get too fantastical but there are some moments throughout this series that are completely brilliant. But understandably it needs to ping pong back to being a little more risque and bonkers to keep its edge (and its audience --- lest it become something like "Velma" -- edgy and unique but too far left field). That said, sometimes "Quinn" as a series feels the need to do that too much. The ending here is bombastic but last year had much more poignance even though this culmination points to something different. B
