IR TV Review: CITY ON A HILL - EPISODE 2 (“A Program Of Complete Disorder”) [Showtime-S3]

The tendency of choice sometimes doesn't enter the vision of those looking to get ahead. As a result they tend to overlook details or lack a sense of empathy to resolve the issue. With Episode 2 of the 3rd season of Showtime's “City On A Hill” entitled “A Program Of Complete Disorder”, the lack of the human condition to resolve itself because of ego and greed takes center stage. Everyone is at fault from the main characters to the bit players who are shading to protect themselves. Jackie Rohr oddly is one of the more altruistic characters in this episode which is really saying a lot but he even falters because he is not one to talk. His wife sees a balance in comeuppance until it is served against her on a silver plate. The reality is that she set herself up versus her husband who is more looking the other way.

Ward (Aldis Hodge) on the other hand is, in a way, still blind. The aspect of his sick father (a powerful turn by Ernie Hudson) gives him a breather from his political cauldron of altruism versus back room dealings to realize that he doesn't understand his goals or at least how he can get there without losing his soul or his love. People protect others simply because that is the way the system seems to work, which can be part of the problem. The reality with such actions is that they tend to send people off the edge of a cliff unless they walk a tightrope very specifically. One character's doesn't make much sense at all but that also might be because she is fueled by her own greed and issues of status. This episode of “City On A Hill” tends to isolate its characters even more despite the fact that they are more intertwined that ever. B
