IR Film Review: GHOSTBUSTERS - FROZEN EMPIRE [Sony]

The essence of the "Ghostbusters" is about blending horror and comedy. In many ways, "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" does this better than any film since the first one back in 1984. This might be aided by the return of many of the original cast but also the difference in tone a director like Gil Kenan brings versus Jason Reitman.

The story of the Boston Strangler is a story that is at the fringes of American consciousness but a term still people recognize. Like "She Said" last fall with different focal points, similar pedigree but an underlying similarity, "Boston Strangler", premiering on Hulu, follows two real life women battling against perception, motivation and masculine mansplaining as they pursue the truth.

IR Film Review: GHOSTBUSTERS - AFTERLIFE [Sony]

"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" is an admirable try and actually throws certain degrees of texture to the wind while others are closely followed. The movie pays homage and explains the aspect of how the myth of the Ghostbusters in the 80s was built up and why it waned. However then some of the characters take severe perspectives of truth.
