The aspect of "Marvel's Voices: Indigenous Voices #1" [36pgs] is the texture of expanding the Marvel Universe by unveiling or reimagining the progression and/or mythology that inspired many of these superhero stories in the first place. Many superheroes in the Marvel Universe have tribal connections though sometimes they might not be bought completely to the forefront. With this series. Marvel offers a peak into the idea with three stories that take different approaches in different time periods. The first one is Echo, who is integrated into the Daredevil part of the Universe. She is brought forward into a distant world by Captain Marvel because she can "see" which allows her in a way to topple a God. The 2nd involves Danielle Moonstar, who is also known as Mirage, who tries to protect mutants. Here is about helping a young man with some of the same powers she had without drawing the ire (or at least battling) the shortsightedness of the local authorities. The last story of this first issue involves Silver Fox helping to fight back for animals. This one comes off a little more brutal but it is also set in the past so there is a texture of “killed or be killed” that tends to run through the idea .All the stories past present and future each show life through a different lens and with so many different lives running through this area of the Marvel Universe there are many more stories to be told.
