Sirk TV Comic Review: HEROES REBORN #1 [Marvel]

The idea of reboots and using alternate universes is an aspect that many different comic book publishers have used. It can reset the dial but, as always, it has to reflect in a perspective. "Heroes Reborn" [Marvel/39pgs) looks at this in the Avengers Universe with one of superheroes on the fringe of the Marvel mythology (albeit a modern one) but his viewpoint is an important part in how he perceives everything that has change and what the actual flashpoint in many ways was. The issue gives updates on how everything moved but how it was adjusted (without to many details) is left in the ether to a certain point. There is a McGuffin used as an approach to rectify what is going on but after the introduction it feels like too simple a plot ploy. It would make more sense to lean into this alternate world first and understand its mechanizations before directly trying to fix it. Because of how certain characters function, the President and his would-be controller makes sense but only if that storyline is expounded upon. This issue lays the groundwork but it is a matter if it peels away the onion slow enuogh to showing the rasoning and puzzle pieces of it actual progress. B
